Drinking Water

So here is a decent drop of things I have been up too, starting with some personal projects.

7th Round Pick - This is a site started by myself, Chris Hoobler, and my younger brother (whom is yet to post!). Focusing primarily on the Detroit Red Wings. I'm a hockey guy and if you aren't into that kinda stuff you can still take a look at the pictures we are illustrating.

Next up is a batch of freelance work I have worked on.

And last is another personal project which is sort of on the back-burner so to speak. It's an attempt to build a Concept Art portfolio. All the characters back stories are in place, it's just getting around to doing it at this point.

October twenty something

A studio shot of my cramped dorm sized creation zone

Smooth Bristol lovin

Bought myself a nice new Bristol pad today and have been sketchin for plenty of hours, so fun getting a nice new smooth pad of paper. Here's a few concepts the top one is a character for something I have had in my head for a while and have been itchin' to get on paper and the second is a sketch of a "no-face" person which was something some of the other illustration students were doing and posting on one of the schools sketch walls. I got a bit carried away and wanted to hold onto mine though...

1 week till schooooool

prolly the last update till schoool. just a few painting study things. top one is a "blood moon monk", its a character of the week challenge at conceptart.org that i thought was a cool subject so i decided to give it a shot. although i see myself either not finishing on time or finishing on time and not posting it there. the second is a gouache study i did and the last was another painter attempt. painter is almost impossible for me to use right now, just cant figure the thing out.

Big load.

Big update, The first three are part of a collaborative project with Wesley Eggebrecht for my illustration and design class. We were to create illustrations for Gore-tex which is the material used between your coats shoes and gloves to protect you from things such as cold wind and water. We had to create the elements that Gore-tex protects you from. I painted the characters and Wes did all the lines and aided in the painting because of our one and a half week deadline.

spring break update

Alright finally updating again! went on a trip hiking for spring break that was suppose to last for a solid five sun-drenched, free-spirited, careless days. unfortunately we only lasted all of one day and i spent most of my spring break at home. sitting. I'm feeling a bit rejuvenated though and I think i'm ready to make this final 7 week push till the end of the semester where ill more then likely begin looking for another full time job until my senior year begins in august... Heres a couple sketchs inspired by my trip and the back packer is actually my friend Wesley Eggebrecht (Awesome art! check it out in my links) and another update on my moby dick book cover which i am still unsure about. until next time, g'day mate.
